Katie & Co

Business Details

I’m Katie and this is my beautiful dog Bailey (aka Boo/Boo-Boo/Fin). Bailey is a ten year old Jack Russell cross Patterdale I’ve had since a pup and a big reason as to why I became a dog walker! I’ve always had a love of animals from a young age. Whether it was working in the local stables through my teens, or helping out with our local dog rescue in my twenties, I’ve always had a passion for working with pets. After 3 years as a Specialist Veterinary Consultant, I decided to take the plunge and become a full time pet professional, setting up Katie & Co in summer 2018. The name Katie & Co is inspired by the 1988 Disney film Oliver & Company. The film is based on the classic Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist. In the film, Oliver is a homeless kitten who joins a gang of dogs to survive on the streets of New York. It was one of my favourite films growing up (only second to the Lion King!) and I loved the idea of a close knit group of canine friends going on adventures together. As the owner of a nervous and reactive dog myself, I have become interested in canine body language and behaviour, and regularly enjoy attending courses and seminars to further my knowledge.
